Auto Skip Ads for YouTube — Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 20, 2026
Overview
Auto Skip Ads for YouTube is a Chrome extension that automatically clicks the "Skip Ad" button on YouTube videos. It does not block ads — it simply clicks the skip button the moment it becomes available.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data.
- No accounts or sign-ups required
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No cookies
- No data sent to external servers
- No browsing history collected
- No video content is accessed — only the skip button element is detected and clicked
How It Works
- Button detection: A content script monitors for the YouTube "Skip Ad" button using a DOM observer and periodic check.
- Auto-click: When the skip button appears, the extension clicks it automatically.
- Skip counter: A local counter tracks how many ads have been skipped, stored only on your device.
- Not an ad blocker: Ads still load and play — the extension just clicks "Skip" faster than you can.
Permissions
- storage: Saves your on/off preference and skip counter locally.
- activeTab: Sends toggle messages to the active YouTube tab.
- Content script (YouTube): Monitors for the skip ad button on YouTube pages.
Advertising
Auto Skip Ads displays non-personalized promotional links in the popup. These are static links — not targeted based on browsing history or personal data.
Third-Party Services
This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.
Data Storage
The extension stores only two values locally: your on/off toggle preference and your total skip count. No other data is stored.
Children's Privacy
This extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
