Dark PDF Viewer is a Chrome extension that applies dark mode to PDF files viewed in your browser. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (none) and how the extension works.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data. All processing happens locally in your browser.

• No browsing history collected
• No PDF content is read or transmitted — only CSS styling is applied

How It Works

Dark PDF Viewer injects a small CSS stylesheet into PDF pages to invert colors:

• CSS injection: When you open a PDF in your browser, the extension applies CSS filter rules to darken the page.
• No content access: The extension does not read, parse, or transmit any PDF content. It only changes visual appearance.
• Toggle: Your on/off preference is stored locally using Chrome's storage API.

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• storage: To save your on/off toggle preference locally so it persists between sessions.
• activeTab: To send toggle messages to the current tab when you change the setting.
• Content script (PDF URLs): To inject CSS that applies dark mode styling to PDF files.

Advertising

Dark PDF Viewer displays non-personalized promotional links in the popup. These are static links — they are not targeted based on your browsing history or any personal data. No tracking pixels, cookies, or user profiling is used for advertising.

Third-Party Services

Dark PDF Viewer does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.

Data Storage

The extension stores only one value locally: your on/off toggle preference. No other data is stored.

Children's Privacy

Dark PDF Viewer does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
