Overview

Hover Zoom is a Chrome extension that shows a full-size image preview when you hover over thumbnails and image links. All processing happens locally.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data.

• No accounts or sign-ups required
• No analytics or tracking scripts
• No cookies
• No data sent to external servers
• No browsing history collected
• No images are uploaded — the browser loads the full-size image the same way it loads any webpage image

How It Works

• Image detection: A content script detects when you hover over images, thumbnails, or links containing images.
• Preview: The full-size version of the image is loaded in an overlay — the same way your browser loads any image normally.
• No uploads: No data is sent anywhere. The image is simply displayed at full resolution.

Permissions

• activeTab: Sends toggle messages to the active tab.
• storage: Saves your on/off toggle preference locally.
• Content script (all URLs): Detects hover events on images across all websites to show previews.

Advertising

Hover Zoom displays non-personalized promotional links in the popup. These are static links — not targeted based on browsing history or personal data.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.

Data Storage

The extension stores only your on/off toggle preference locally.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
