JSON Viewer — Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 20, 2026
Overview
JSON Viewer is a Chrome extension that auto-formats JSON responses in the browser with dark mode, syntax highlighting, and a collapsible tree view.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data.
- No accounts or sign-ups required
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No cookies
- No data sent to external servers
- No browsing history collected
- JSON content is only processed locally in your browser
How It Works
- JSON detection: A content script checks if the page contains raw JSON data.
- Formatting: If JSON is detected, the page is replaced with a formatted, syntax-highlighted tree view.
- All local: JSON parsing and rendering happens entirely in your browser. No data is sent anywhere.
Permissions
- activeTab: Required for the popup to interact with the active tab.
- Content script (all URLs): Needed to detect and format JSON on any URL. Only processes pages that contain raw JSON data.
Advertising
JSON Viewer displays non-personalized promotional links in the popup. These are static links — not targeted based on browsing history or personal data.
Third-Party Services
This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.
Data Storage
The extension does not store any data persistently.
Children's Privacy
This extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
