Reader Mode is a Chrome extension that strips ads, navigation, and clutter from articles to give you clean, readable text. All processing happens locally in your browser.

How It Works

• Content extraction: When you click "Read This Page", the extension extracts article text, headings, and images from the current page.
• Clean rendering: The page is replaced with a clean, formatted view using your chosen theme and font size.
• All local: Content extraction and rendering happens entirely in your browser.

Permissions

• activeTab: Required to extract content from the current page.
• scripting: Required to inject the reader mode script into the page.
• storage: Saves your theme and font size preferences locally.

Advertising

Reader Mode displays non-personalized promotional links in the popup. These are static links — not targeted based on browsing history or personal data.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.

Data Storage

The extension stores only your theme and font size preferences locally.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
